very basic blood knot question

Postby Engine » Sat Aug 27, 2011 11:34 am

Forgive me I know I'm not phrasing this question well... But is there a blood knot variation that has both ends coming out the same end of the knot? (I'm talking about the bit that coils around the loop and holds it in place)

thanks!

I guess a noose would work... I was thinking of a length of cord with a celtic button knot on one end and a loop on the other. the loop would be held by a 'noose' and the two strands that came out of the coils would be used for a Solomon bar or the like....

Check out JD's video on how to tie a zipper sinnet bracelet. It shows a loop held in place by a blood knot and you still have both working ends of the rope to tie a sinnet and then a button knot at the end. You can either fold one rope in half and tie a blood knot around the loop, or use 2 colors like he does in the video. Hope this helped.

You could also use a cavalry knot.
