How to cover a ball-shaped cane handle

Postby washushae » Fri Jul 05, 2013 4:06 pm

I have a cane with a round brass knob as a handle. It tapers into the wooden handle at the base of the knob. I would like to cover the brass knob with either heavy string or 550 Paracord.
Is there a common knot(s) to do this?

I'm thinking of a modified Monkey's Fist that would allow for the shaft of the cane. . .

Check out http://www.knottool.com/ Look at the Globe Knot Cookbook. Don sells the cookbook and a kit that helps you tie Globe Knots. One of his examples is exactly what your looking for.

And yes its a shamless plug for Don. I have all three of his cookbooks and both kits. Globe Knots and Turks heads have never been easier.

Good Luck with it.
